• It's nice to meet you!

Hello, my name is Jimi Filipovski and I am a designer living in Chicago, IL. I’m currently an Associate Motion Designer at Razorfish.

People often ask me what kind of designer I am and I have to say it’s a difficult question to answer. The better question is what type of designer am I not? I approach everything in life through design, I love solving everyday problems through a design-conscious process. Everything is design. Unraveling objects with this view gives a full circle approach to life.

To be more specific I’m an animator, director, filmmaker, photographer, leather worker, web designer, guitar playing, french learning, book reading, coffee drinking human being.

I discovered film-making when I started skateboarding around age 10 back in Chesterfield, MI. My Friends and I wanted to make skate videos to show friends. I used my parents VHS Camera and started making short films. In high school my senior year was Photography, Telecommunications, Graphic Design and school newspaper class. I was also an audio engineer at the local performing arts theatre. I was learning Final Cut Pro and the Adobe suite on top of developing and processing my own film in photography class. My life circled around making and designing.

My mix of film and design dropped me in Chicago where I received my BFA in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics at The Illinois Institute of Art – Chicago. It was a hybrid of traditional design classes, film-making and 3D classes that give me a unique edge in the industry.

Over the last 4 years I’ve worked at Sol Design, Leviathan, Critical Mass and now Razorfish. I’ve worked with every client from United Airlines to electronic artist Amon Tobin. I’m extremely dedicated to my craft and I believe that it has no borders. I’m always looking to collaborate and meet talented individuals and clients who make an impact in the community. Would you work with me?
